Is Andreas Avester your legal name?
No. My legal name is Ieva Skrebele. If you need to sign a contract with me, that’s what I will use.
For how long have you been making artworks?
Like many artists, I have been drawing since early childhood. As I got older, I concluded that being an artist is a better source of income than most other jobs, so I got more serious about improving my drawing skills.
I’m thinking about commissioning an artwork. How long will it take for you to finish my picture?
It depends. If you want a simple tattoo design or a logotype and you contact me at a moment when I don’t have many other jobs on my to do list, your picture will be finished in less than a week. If you want a complex artwork that requires more time to finish, then it will be longer than that. When a client hires me to create some artwork, I tell them when it will be finished. Whatever date I tell, I’ll stick to it. Being an artist is my job, and I’m professional and serious about it. I don’t unnecessarily annoy my clients with missed deadlines.
I would love if you could draw [something], but I cannot afford to pay for your work. Do you accept free requests?
No. I’m sorry, but I have bills to pay. Artists need food and shelter just like any other person.
I love this artwork of yours. Can I use it for [some purpose]?
If you are thinking about one of my tattoo/logotype designs, then look at the image caption. If that’s a commissioned work, then the answer is no. These designs are created specifically for the commissioner’s use only. If the caption says that the image is available for sale, then you can contact me to buy the usage rights for it.
For other artworks (photos, pencil or metalpoint drawings, paintings) contact me and tell me what exactly you are interested in.
